The reverse of the coin includes the image of Tasmanian Wedge-Tailed Eagle. The animal is looking ahead. Its body is covered with colorful enamel which makes the eagle look very natural. In the background there are plants and a mountain depicting the natural environment of this extraordinary bird.
The obverse of the coin shows the image of Queen Elizabeth II with the face value of 1 dollar.
