This is the first coin from the Perth Mint`s Deadly & Dangerous Silver Proof Series. It shows the malevolent beauty of infamous Red-back Spider which lives in Australia. The coin was minted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of red-back Spider antivenom. This celebration is designed in sheer brilliance of the full-color reverse.
The reverse of the coin shows a stunning image of an adult Red-back spider with its three babies in a web. Standing out against a pristine mirror field, the spider is the ideal subject for the full-color technology used by the Perth Mint. The obverse shows the image of Queen Elizabeth II, “Tuvalu” and its legal tender value.
Each silver proof coin is a tribute to this dangerous spider and serves as an outstanding presentation of this animal. Every coin is housed in a high-gloss timber case, created specifically for the easy display of this beautiful coin which deserves to be put on view.
The Deadly & Dangerous Silver Proof Series includes limited mintage of coins – not more than 5 000 sold out with enormous speed which are now catalogued at more than 10 times issue price.
