The Royal Canadian Mint honors those who face danger in the line of duty and remain steadfast in their commitment to helping others.
The first piece in the National Heroes series is to commemorate firefighters and pay tribute to their dedication to their community and beyond.
The reverse of the coins shows the design by a Canadian artist Ken Ryan. It uses color over engraving to create a timeless portrait of a firefighter in the line of duty. The background depicts flames and smoke out or a residential house. The firefighter is in full turnout gear, a red helmet with visor and tan-colored jacket with reflective yellow green and silver trim.
The obverse includes the image of Queen Elisabeth II.
Each coin is delivered in a maroon clamshell with black beauty box. The package includes also a certificate of authenticity.
The coins has been minted in limited mintage of only 10 000 coins worldwide.
