Spectacular combination of silver and amber
The coin features an accurately rendered map of Central Europe, along with the designated Amber Route, along which people traveled and traded since the first century AD, and according to some sources even earlier. The road connected the southern areas on the Adriatic Sea with the area of present-day St. Petersburg, located to the north. The numismatic coin is completed with the inscriptions “AMBER ROAD” at the bottom and “HISTORIC TRADE ROUTES” at the top. The coin is also decorated with the minted date of execution and the individual cities along the route.
