Another commemorative coin minted in Laos. This time the designers decided to commemorate the Chinese Lunar Year of the Dragon. As it is typical of this coin series, also this piece has been enriched with the incorporation of original jade.
The reverse of the coin includes the image of the Chinese golden dragon – one of the well- known depicts of this legendary animal. The creature`s portrait is situated in the center of the coin which is encircled by a jade decoration with the label: “The Year of the Dragon”, and an encryption in Chinese together with the date of mintage. The outer part of the reverse is silver and includes more dragons.
The obverse of the coin shows its face value of 2000 KIP.
