A tribute to the great engravers
There is already a centuries-old tradition of coinage at The Royal Mint. The spectacular Gothic Crown Quartered Arms design is not new; the Royal Mint’s leading 19th-century engraver, William Wyon, is responsible for it.
The contemporary version with a denomination of £5, issued in 2021 in a maximum mintage of 4006 copies, contains 2 ounces of pure 999 silver. All the qualities relevant to collectors make the numismatic coin desirable – the limited issue, the precious bullion content and, above all, the masterful interpretation of the great engraver’s work from long ago.
Special features of the coin:
- 19th century design by William Wyon
- 2 ounces of pure silver
- The inaugural coin of a unique series
- Limited edition of 2021
- A true work of art by The Royal Mint
