Elizabeth II’s diamond diadem

The mere fact of using 2 ounces of 99.99% pure gold generates interest among collectors, but other luxurious embellishments are included in this design. Each of the 225 limited edition coins features seven genuine diamonds. Each was applied by hand using a very precise tool. One particular ornament is the yellow diamond in the centre of the cross, which brings the coin even closer to the real diadem of the Queen of the United Kingdom. To emphasise the unique and luxurious nature of the numismatic coin, the engravers have plated the contrasting gold details in platinum.

The diadem to which this edition is dedicated has been worn by Elizabeth II for decades, such as on the occasion of the opening of the UK Parliament. The Queen also wore it during her coronation procession in the memorable year 1953
