The reverse of the coin has been designed by a Canadian artist Julius Csotonyi and reviewed for scientific accuracy by paleontologists at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Alberta. It shows the image of a running T-Rex with its mouth open. The background includes the real meteorite inserted in pure silver and color flashes of fire. It seems to be raising out of the coin thanks to various mintage techniques used by the Royal Canadian Mint.
The piece includes real iron Campo del Cielo meteorite insert.
