The collection inspired by the Chinese horoscope is one of the more interesting offerings in the current catalogue of the Australian Perth Mint. The 7th coin in the series was created on the occasion of the Year of the Tiger, i.e. 2022. However, the value of this numismat is not only evidenced by the interesting subject matter, but above all by the unique workmanship.
Silver coin for the Year of the Tiger
One ounce of silver was used to strike this coin, but the decorative tiger alluding to the Chinese horoscope was made from opal, a silicate for which Australia is famous for mining. The overall look is extremely stylish, but The Perth Mint has already accustomed collectors of precious coins from around the world to its exceptional quality.
It is worth knowing that, according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Year of the Tiger is dated between 1 February 2022 and 21 January 2023. In contrast, the mintage of the coin available at Coins From World has been limited to 5,000 copies (and has already been sold out of the mint’s stock).

- Collector coin from Australia
