In 2017, the Year of the Rooster, the Perth Mint is going to renew its bestselling Australian Lunar Silver Proof Coin Series II. The Rooster is the tenth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
The reverse of the coin includes the image of a rooster, a hen, and three chicks standing among bamboo foliage and some flowers. In the background, there is the Chinese character for “a rooster”. Below the animals, there is the inscription “Year of the Rooster”.
The obverse shows the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II together with the legal tender and the place and date of issue.
Each coin is presented in a stylish red and black presentation case and themed shipper. A numbered Certificate of Authenticity is included.
The coin has been issued in limited mintage of 8 500 pure silver coins worldwide.
