Another commemorative coin minted by Perth Mint in the new Australian Opal series -Lunar. This time the Mint`s designers decided to commemorate the Chinese Lunar Year of the Monkey.

The reverse of the first release of the Lunar series includes the image of a mischievous monkey with a peach. The monkey is detailed in authentic Australian opal. The outer part of the reverse shows the label: “Year of The Monkey” and various decorative engravings.

The obverse of the coins shows the image of Queen Elizabeth II, the face value of 1 dollar and the composition data.

Each coin is delivered in an elegant display case with a light and the image of the monkey on the lid. The box in golden and red.
