Found off the Northern Australia and in the Indo-Pacific region, the Box Jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) is claimed to be the most venomous marine ever known according to the Australian Institute of Marine Science. This astonishing life form can grow up to 15 tentacles, each with length up to 3 meters from each corner of the cubic bell from which it has its name. Every tentacle is endowed with up to 5 000 stinging cells which contain toxins attacking the heart, nervous system and skin. This aquatic assassin can kill a human within minutes by causing extreme pain.

The reverse of the 40.60 mm Silver Proof coin shows the image of the Box Jellyfish with frightening full-color appreciation. The obverse includes the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, "Tuvalu", and the legal tender value of the coin.
